Welcome to my blog, message #1, “The Introduction”

Welcome to Hunker Down USA! I am new to a blog, but far from new to the internet, I usually can be found around Yahoo somewhere….infact my main hunker down site is a Group called “HunkerDown06″, hovering just under 800 members and on the web for alittle over 3 years it is a collection of survivalist minded people sharing information on self sufficient living and being prepared when disaster strikes~

Just to give you alittle background into this group- I started this group and named it HunkerDown06 back in 2005 in preparation for the 2006 Hurricane Season (storms, a very real threat)- In it’s humble beginnings it brought together the like minded storm survivalist, preparing for a very real danger- It
has grown and stretched and evolved and broadened it’s scope in ways that have amazed me, sometimes terrified me, but always enlightened me……….

Disaster takes on many faces……my word to the masses to prepare runs the gambit from floods in  Iowa, wildfires in California to hurricanes and earthquakes……could it be economic depression or pandemic? You bet……Being prepared with extra food is like having fire insurance on your house………..it’s better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it-

So you now have a pretty deep understanding of what “hunker down” is……….keep checking back as I use this as another platform to encourage people to prepare!
